This is my Batik I did for Visual Culture and 2D-Design as well. After this experience, I would admit that drawing and coloring on a Batik is very hard. A lot of skills are needed for this. Basically it was done because I really like turtles and all reptiles. The under water concept is done to show the freedom of a turtle in the sea but the ugly sinking boat at the back is to destroy the beauty of the Batik. It was done and colored in that way purposely to draw attention of ugliness to the Batik. This reflects on what we have done to the ocean, oil spills, rubbish and all kinds of substances and toxic we human put in the sea.
Then for Visual Culture, combining four Batiks together we built a sculpture.
